Cooling capacity

The cooling a system delivers, not the electricity it uses. What a room needs is decided by a heat-load assessment of that room, not by its floor area — these bands are a starting point for browsing.

Sound level

How loud the indoor unit is at its quietest setting. dB(A) is a measurement of sound, and the scale is not a straight line — a few dB(A) is a bigger difference than it looks. Each manufacturer quotes under its own test conditions, so treat these as relative rather than directly comparable.
